Young Researcher Award

Purpose

The Young Researcher Award is presented for the best paper reporting on a quantitative or qualitative study addressing a question related to educational technology.

Eligibility

An individual who is a doctoral candidate, or who received the degree not more than five (5) years prior to submission due date. Co-authorship is acceptable provided that the Young Researcher applicant is the primary author.

Review Criteria

The paper must be an original unpublished investigation dealing with research in educational technology. The paper must be a report of a specific research study. It must be 25-35 pages long, excluding references, and must conform to the Style Manual of the American Psychological Association, latest edition.

Selection

The selection of the winning paper will be the responsibility of the AECT Young Researcher Award review committee which is appointed by the board of the Research and Theory Division of AECT. Only research papers meeting criteria will be considered and no award will be presented if entries are not deemed worthy.

Self-nominations are allowed.

Nature of Award

Contingent on funding, a cash award of $500 is presented. The winning paper will receive special consideration for publication in Educational Technology Research and Development (ETR&D), the refereed scholarly research journal published by AECT.
