Best Practice Award
SELF-NOMINATIONS ARE ALLOWED.
Purpose:
The Best Practice Award recognizes the outstanding application of organizational training and performance research and theory in a practical setting.
Eligibility:
- Must be a practitioner in the field of organization training and performance.
- Open to both members and non-members of AECT.
Review Criteria:
● Nominee’s name
● Nominee’s organization and role within that organization
● Nominee’s best practice and impact on the organization
● Narrative describing the following relative to the best practice:
○ Description of the practice(s)
○ Needs and goals addressed
○ Measured results
○ Transferability
○ Theoretical basis and relevance
Selection: Nominations are coordinated and reviewed by the Division of Organizational Training and Performance Awards Committee. The Awards Committee will forward a list of up to 2 finalists to the OTP Board. From the list, the Board may grant one award per year. The Board may, at its sole discretion, forgo awarding the award in any given year.
Nomination Procedure: Nominations, including all supporting documents, should be emailed to

Nature of Award:
- One-year membership to AECT
- Webinar presentation of the best practice on behalf of OTP during the year immediately following convention.
Presentation of Award:
- Email notifications and social media posts announcing the winner after their acceptance of the award.
- Recognition by the division during the AECT annual convention.
Nominations due by: May 6, 2024
Decision will be announced by: June 5, 2024
