Weather & What to Pack

Ireland in July is mild and green — and famously changeable. Here's what to expect and how to prepare.

🌡️ 18–20°C 64–68°F · Avg High
🌧️ ~13 days Rain days in July
☁️ Partly cloudy Typical sky
🌅 ~9:00 PM Sunset (long days!)
🧥
Clothing
  • A lightweight waterproof jacket — this is the single most important item
  • Layers: mornings and evenings can feel cool even in summer
  • Comfortable walking shoes (waterproof soles a bonus)
  • A light sweater or fleece for indoor venues with air conditioning
  • Smart casual attire for Summit sessions
🎒
Everyday Essentials
  • Compact travel umbrella — fits in any bag
  • Reusable water bottle (Dublin tap water is excellent)
  • Universal EU plug adapter (Ireland uses Type G — same as UK)
  • Small day bag or tote for excursions and evening outings
  • Sunscreen — UV can be strong even on cloudy days
💊
Health & Comfort
  • Any personal prescription medications (bring extra)
  • Travel-size pain reliever, antacid, and antihistamine
  • Blister plasters — Dublin is a very walkable city
  • Motion sickness remedy if you plan to tour by coach
  • Hand sanitizer and a small first-aid kit for peace of mind
📱
Tech & Connectivity
  • Check with your mobile carrier about international roaming rates
  • Prepaid Irish SIM cards available at Dublin Airport (Three, Vodafone, Eir)
  • Portable power bank for full days away from the venue
  • Laptop and charger for manuscript work sessions
  • Wi-Fi will be available at the Summit venue
☘️

Irish weather pro tip: The local saying goes, "If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes." Dressing in layers and keeping a rain jacket handy means you'll be comfortable no matter what the day brings — and the long summer evenings make exploring Dublin an absolute delight.
