Summary: The Instructional Designer develops engaging course content and learning activities to support knowledge retention and application for nontraditional adult learners in Penn College’s Workforce Development online and face-to-face training programs. The role involves collaborating with subject matter experts and stakeholders to design new learning experiences and manage existing online and trainer-led curriculum across a variety of industry and applied technology areas.

Summary: The Instructional Technologist supports and optimizes the university’s online learning infrastructure by coordinating digital textbook integrations, instructional resource platforms, and faculty support systems. Major Duties and Responsibilities

Textbook and Resource Management

  • Manage online textbook adoptions through Cengage and VitalSource platforms (Collect, Compete, and Connect).
  • Coordinate with vendors and publisher representatives (including Cengage and other third parties) to update and communicate course material requirements.
  • Maintain and regularly update the master database of online textbooks.
  • Coordinate the implementation and oversight of online course labs.

Outcome Assessment Coordination

  • Set up and manage outcome assessment activities in Moodle in collaboration with the Office of Assessment and Accreditation.
  • Provide training and tutorials on the setup and use of the Dragon Assessment tool in Moodle.

Department Responsibilities

  • Manage the department website project to ensure instructors and students have access to current, comprehensive resources.
  • Update and maintain COL-related content on the Tiffin University website.

Summary: The Research Technology Specialist provides integrated technical and research support to the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Colgate University. The role supports high-quality undergraduate and faculty research through experiment programming, data workflows, systems support, and troubleshooting of research-related hardware and software, working closely with faculty across cognitive, social, clinical, developmental, and neuroscience subfields.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and program custom software for teaching and research, including developing behavioral experiments using PsychoPy (Python) and related tools.
  • Provide training and support to students and faculty using research software platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, PsychoPy).
  • Provide technical support for specialized laboratory and classroom instruction, ensuring smooth operation of research- and teaching-related technologies.
