Summary: The University of West Florida invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Instructional Design and Technology. UWF is a learner-focused institution committed to academic excellence, innovation, and community engagement. The successful candidate will teach and mentor across undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels; contribute to a nationally recognized program; and advance research addressing emerging trends in instructional design, technology integration, and performance improvement.

  • Teach fully online undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral courses in Instructional Design & Technology and Performance Improvement.
  • Supervise Bachelor’s and Master’s capstone projects.
  • Guide doctoral research as chair, subject matter expert, and/or methodologist on dissertation committees.
  • Engage in scholarly activity and maintain an active research agenda; grantsmanship is encouraged and supported.
  • Provide purposeful mentoring and direct student support at all levels.
  • Contribute service to the department, school, university, and community.
  • Preferred teaching expertise includes: Action Research; Instructional Systems Design; Current & Emerging Technologies; Human Performance Improvement.
  • Minimum: Doctoral degree in Instructional Design & Technology or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution by the start date; commitment to teaching, research, and service.
  • Preferred: Established research agenda in applied scholarship that contributes to national dialogue in the field.
  • Experience teaching fully online at undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels.
  • Experience mentoring undergraduate/graduate students and guiding doctoral research.
  • Participation in curriculum and program development and the design of quality online learning experiences.
